# Maple Walnut Cake

A sour cream and walnut cake mixed in one bowl. Right after baking, I soak it with maple syrup.

## What you need

- 6 Eggs
- 2 cups Sugar
- 4 Packets vanilla sugar (0.35 oz each)
- 1⅔ cups Containers sour cream (about 3/4 cup each)
- 1 cup Oil
- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 Packet baking powder (0.35 oz (about 2 tsp))
- 1 cup Chopped walnuts
- Cooking spray (for the pan)
- Maple syrup (for soaking the cake after baking)

## How I make it

1. Preheat the oven to 355°F and grease the pan with cooking spray.
2. Mix all the ingredients in the order listed.
3. Pour into the pan and bake for about 50 minutes in a round pan, or about 40 minutes in English cake (loaf) pans.
4. Remove from the oven and immediately pour maple syrup generously over the cake.
5. Cool completely before slicing.

## What I've learned

- For a lighter, airier cake, I first beat the eggs with both kinds of sugar for 5 minutes.
