# Lazy Maamoul

Maamoul without shaping each one by hand: dough rolls filled with date paste, which I slice into cookies and dust with confectioners' sugar.

## What you need

### For the Dough

- 5 cups All-purpose flour
- 7 oz Butter
- ½ cup Oil
- ½ cup Orange juice
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 package Baking powder (1 packet (heaping tablespoon))

### For the Filling

- 1 can Date paste (Tamarmalit)

### For Decoration

- Confectioners' sugar

## How I make it

1. Put all the dough ingredients in a bowl and knead until the dough is smooth and not sticky.
2. Form the dough into a ball, grease it lightly, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
3. Divide the dough into 3 parts and roll out each part into a rectangle as thin as possible.
4. Preheat the oven to 340°F.
5. Spread the filling over each rectangle and roll it up into a log.
6. Score each log with cuts 1/2 inch deep, spaced 1/4 inch apart.
7. Bake the logs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for about 30 minutes, until golden.
8. Slice into cookies while the logs are still warm and return them to the oven for another 10 minutes.
9. Let cool slightly and dust with confectioners' sugar.
