How I make it

The Torte

  1. Separate the eggs. Whip the egg whites with the sugar until stiff.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks with the lemon juice.

  3. In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients.

  4. Mix the dry ingredients into the bowl of wet ingredients.

  5. Finally, gently fold this into the whipped egg whites.

  6. Bake at 340°F for about 40 minutes.

Chocolate-Nut Cream

  1. Bring one carton of heavy cream to a boil and pour it over the chocolate spread.

  2. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

  3. Refrigerate until the cream is completely cold.

  4. Add the second carton of heavy cream and whip until stiff.

Coffee Cream

  1. Whip all the ingredients until the coffee cream is stiff.

Assembling the Cake

  1. Slice the cake into 3 equal layers.

  2. Arrange the layers as follows: a base layer, a layer of chocolate-nut cream, a layer of torte, a layer of chocolate-nut cream, a layer of torte, and a layer of coffee cream.

  3. Decorate with crocant and refrigerate until serving.
