# Chocolate Tiramisu

A tiramisu where I add a layer of bittersweet chocolate ganache between the coffee-soaked ladyfingers and the mascarpone cream.

## What you need

### Mascarpone cream

- 8 oz mascarpone
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3 tbsp sugar

### Ladyfingers

- 1 package ladyfingers
- 1½ cups strong espresso, cold
- ⅓ cup chocolate liqueur, Kahlúa or amaretto

### Chocolate layer

- 7 oz bittersweet chocolate
- ½ cup heavy cream
- cocoa powder for dusting [optional]

## How I make it

1. Beat the mascarpone briefly, then add the cream and sugar. Keep in the fridge.
2. Mix the coffee and the liqueur.
3. Dip ladyfingers in the coffee mixture and lay them side by side in a rectangular pan (about 8 by 10 inches, 20 by 25 cm).
4. Melt the chocolate with the ½ cup of cream in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir and spread over the ladyfingers.
5. Spread half the mascarpone cream over the chocolate.
6. Add another layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers and spread the rest of the cream on top.
7. Dust with cocoa powder or leave it white.
8. Chill in the fridge for a few hours.
