# Chocolate Rose Cake

A yeast cake of chocolate-spread swirls baked snug in one pan, so they open up like roses.

## What you need

### Dough

- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- 2 large eggs
- 5½ tbsp butter, softened
- 4½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup sugar
- 2½ tsp instant yeast (10 g)

### Filling

- 3 cups chocolate spread

### Egg wash

- 1 egg yolk
- a little milk

## How I make it

1. Mix the dough ingredients in a mixer with the dough hook until smooth and slightly sticky.
2. Shape into a ball, oil lightly and let rise until doubled.
3. Divide the dough in half and roll each piece into a sheet.
4. Spread the sheets with the chocolate spread and roll each into a log.
5. Cut each log into 8 slices and arrange them in the pan, cut side up.
6. Let rise again until doubled.
7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
8. Beat the yolk with a little milk, brush over the swirls and bake for 30 minutes.
